No wonder you have such perfect teeth! Your Father is a Dentist
Do you smile readily when you take your selfies or other pictures? Do you catch yourself covering your mouth when you feel like laughing out loud or when you smile? Or do you generally feel you are just not proud of your teeth and your smile ?
Here is another question….. Have you commented on other people’s smile “Wow ! Such perfect teeth” ….yet no one has commented on your smile..
The reason I am asking these questions is because I do personally get compliments “you have such great smile, no wonder you are a dentist” or my sons had compliments thrown at them ….”I can see your father is a dentist. Obviously, a dentist’s son will have such perfect teeth” No matter how many times we hear those words, it always makes one feel elated. The good news is you do not need to have a dentist parent to have a great smile. Now everyone can smile with the confidence of a Colgate Smile.
How we feel about our teeth can really affect our self-confidence.
As we all know, our self-confidence plays a major role in the level of success we achieve in our lives. People with higher levels of self-confidence have better paying jobs, get promoted and are appreciated more in the workplace. Likewise, people with good levels of self-confidence have more meaningful relationships and social life as well. No matter what level of self-confident we have now, we can always take it a notch higher.
One of the key factors affecting our self-confidence is our Smile.
There is also a well-known correlation between good smiles and one’s mental well-being. In my practice, almost a third of my adult patients admit to being unhappy with their smile. When asked to score between 1-10, where 10 is most happy, one third or more score a 5 or less. How happy do you feel about your teeth?
In today’s world of advertisements and body beautiful coupled with the social media and the selfies culture, it is not uncommon for one to lose self-confidence in the game that is played out in our society currently. The good news is you can make changes and improve your looks. One significant way is by changing your smile. Cosmetic dentistry as the name suggests is undertaking dental procedures to make you look better, by improving your Smile.
Nowadays, dentists have a whole range of options to improve your Smile. Something as simple as cosmetic fillings, dental braces to veneers and even implants! There is a whole lot of treatment options and the best person to advice you would be your dentist.
Yes, cost would be a factor as it is not cheap to do cosmetic work. But most dentists will fit the treatment option best suited to your budget and dental condition. But you need to take the first step and decide you want to be happier with your smile and then make an appointment for consulting a dentist.
